BlueScope Recycling is a full-service, ferrous scrap metal recycler with processing facilities in Waterloo, IN, Delta, OH, and Mansfield, OH. BlueScope Recycling buys scrap from industrial generators, wholesale suppliers, and the general public, focusing on delivering the highest level of service.

Summary:  The Loader Operator loads and unloads material using company equipment to specified locations while maintaining a safe and organized yard while achieving company goals, under the direction of the Area Supervisor. Efficiently identifies and sorts materials and feeds the shredder conveyor line.  Additional responsibilities include equipment up-keep, non-mechanical maintenance, and safe operation.

               

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform physical duties that are associated with the operation of equipmentFollow direction of the Area Supervisor with regards to daily production and activities to complete the jobPerform daily preventive maintenance on equipment as requiredFollow the dress code and compliance of proper PPE at all timesWork independently in the absence of direct supervisionProfound ability to make decisions, solve problems and handle high stress situations calmly and safely

 Required Qualifications:

Basic math, reading and writing skillsHeavy equipment experience preferred [Skid Steer, Bob Cat, Fork Lift, Front End Loader, Crane]Knowledge of Non-Ferrous and Ferrous MaterialsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to organize, plan and prioritize work efficientlyPass a pre-employment drug screeningPass a pre-employment background checkWilling to work overtime and weekends when necessary

Physical Requirements:

Sit and stand for long periods of timeAble to climb into mobile equipmentExposure to physical operations in scrap recycling facilities, including walking/climbing in active industrial yards with uneven surfaces in inclement weather
