Join us and build _your_ ambition. **ABOUT THE ROLE** Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Laoder Operator to support operations at our Aspahlt plant location in Clinton, MD. This position will be responsible for safely operating front‑end loaders or similar heavy machinery to transport, load, and stockpile aggregates and asphalt into plant hoppers, conveyor systems, or haul trucks, ensuring continuous material flow and production efficiency. **WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH** + Operate front-end loaders to transport and load aggregates and asphalt into plant hoppers, conveyor systems, or trucks, ensuring smooth material flow for production. + Perform daily inspections checking fluid levels, lubricating, cleaning, and identifying any maintenance needs before and after each shift. + Carry out on-the-spot maintenance like fueling, greasing, cleaning, and replacing minor parts to maintain equipment efficiency. + Monitor material levels in bins and hoppers to ensure adequate supply and prevent production interruptions. + Communicate frequently with plant operators, truck drivers, and supervisors to coordinate loading operations and maintain safety. + Adhere to all company, OSHA/MSHA, and site safety procedures—using PPE, maintaining clear surroundings, and preventing accidents . + Support general site upkeep tasks: Ground cleanup, stockpile management, and traffic control around the plant. + Ensure trucks are loaded to correct weights for transport, complying with delivery specifications and standards. + Maintain logs of equipment checks, loads handled, and any issues encountered; escalate mechanical problems to supervisors. + Perform additional labor support as needed such as assisting plant staff, filling conveyors, or helping with plant maintenance. **WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR** + **Education: High school diploma or equivalent** + **Field of Study Preferred: N/A** + **Required Work Experience: Experience operating heavy equipment, including but not limited to skid steers, loaders, excavators, and backhoes.** + **Travel Requirements: 25%-50% of the time** + Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing routine maintenance on equipment. + Heavy Equipment Operation: Proficiently operates front-end loaders and other heavy machinery to transport and load materials such as aggregates and asphalt, ensuring efficient plant operations. + Safety Compliance: Adheres to all safety protocols, including conducting pre-shift inspections and using appropriate personal protective equipment, to maintain a safe working environment. + Mechanical Aptitude: Performs routine maintenance tasks like lubricating, fueling, and cleaning equipment, and identifies minor mechanical issues to ensure optimal performance. + Communication Skills: Effectively communicates with team members, including truck drivers and plant operators, to coordinate loading operations and address any issues promptly. + Attention to Detail: Monitors equipment gauges and material levels to prevent overloading or spillage, ensuring accurate and efficient material handling. Additional Requirements: + Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
