Job Advert: Loader (Recycling & Waste)
Location: Caldicot
Salary: £12.21 per hour (PAYE) / £15.48 per hour (Umbrella)
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday–Thursday 07:00–15:00, Friday 07:00–14:30)
Contract: Temporary (Start 07/07/2025, 12 weeks)
Are you a dedicated and hardworking individual eager to contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable community? Network Recruitment Wales is seeking a Loader (Recycling & Waste) to join a dynamic team in Caldicot, delivering high-quality waste and recycling services to support a greener future.
What you’ll do:
Collect various types of waste (e.g., food, garden, residual, hygiene, dry recycling, and trade waste) from households and businesses as per collection schedules.Ensure collection areas are left clean, safe, and tidy, with receptacles returned properly to avoid blocking pavements or driveways.Monitor recycling contamination (dry, food, and garden waste) and follow relevant procedures.Engage with the public in a professional, polite, and courteous manner.Perform assisted collections and extra allocation collections accurately.Adhere to health and safety policies and safe working practices.Complete paperwork accurately and report incidents or concerns to supervisors promptly.Support additional tasks such as litter picking, bin emptying, or emergency response (e.g., flooding, snow clearance) as needed.Occasionally act as a Relief HGV Driver/Team Leader if qualified with a valid HGV licence (higher rate applies).What we’re looking for:
A strong work ethic and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.Team player with good communication skills and a commitment to high-quality service.Ability to self-motivate and work without close supervision.Understanding of health and safety practices and willingness to comply with policies.Flexibility to work bank holidays (double time pay plus accrued leave day) and occasional weekends/evenings for emergencies or special projects.Previous experience in waste management or a similar role is desirable but not essential – full training provided.A clean driving licence is desirable but not essential.Requirements:
