Schedule:
Regular 8–10-hour shifts, M-F (no billable requirement).
Salary: Commensurate with experience >2 years = $120,00 salary MAX 2-4 years = $130,000 salary AVG 5-7 years = $150,500 salary AVG 7-10 years = $170,000 salary MINBonus incentive plan that an average producer could see an extra $5,000 per quarter. Benefits include PTO, full health, $401k, etc.
DESCRIPTION: Research, investigate, analyze and call for deposition claimants of workplace injury to prevent and mitigate all fraudulent claims on behalf of employers, insurance carriers and brokers and corporations throughout the State of Florida. Participate in mediations to assist in limiting the cost and creating fair safeguards for employers and insurance carriers against illegitimate claims of workplace injury which can cost a company millions of dollars annually and shut down entire corporations if not property vetted and litigated to ensure accuracy and fairness. The role will be heavy on litigation, especially for most workers' compensation defense firms, as the practice has built a reputation around being a sturdy and reliable protectionist of the economic health of its clients. It is expected for attorneys at the firm to attend regular social events and gatherings to network and become a part of the community for which they serve and work with. Draft comprehensive and well-written pleadings, motions and other legal filings to be reviewed. Collaborate with senior attorneys and paralegals to develop comprehensive defense strategies to protect their clients' interests and mitigate potential fraud within the workplace. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Juris Doctor in Law from any accredited school with an active license to practice in the State of Florida 2.5 years minimum of experience in litigation support following Florida's Chapter 440. Experience in depositions, mediations, (arbitration would be a plus), with proficiency in filing relevant legal filings timely and accurately. Defense litigation on behalf of employers, corporations and their insurance carriers. Tech savvy enough for communication through TEAMS, research using LexisNexis, preferably embraces legal tech. Spanish or other bilingual fluency would be a plus. Key Responsibilities: Handle a caseload of anywhere from 25 - 125 active cases monthly, with Analyze depositions, shadow mediations and arbitrations, and learn the art of litigation within workers' compensation law Conduct thorough legal research and analysis with a fiercely forensic investigative approach Engage with directly and actively build a network consisting of insurance agents and brokers and other clients, demonstrating competency in legal counsel and collaboration. Responsive to clients with great customer service, adaptability, and executive function. Forensic legal research, analytical with proficiency in legal writing and drafting. Articulate with good communication skill and inqusitive, thorough in depositions.
