Job Description
One of our large clients is building out a team of Sr. Data Center Technicians / Linux Administrators and/or Systems Administrators. This is a very unique opportunity to gain exposure and experience to top notch and new technologies, build 1:1 vendor relationships during troubleshooting with big name organizations, and grow professionally. - Attend the job site during the early phases of construction and relay observations to the engineering team as needed.
- Monitor and troubleshoot servers and network infrastructure across our data centers and global locations.
- Physically install (rack and stack) networking hardware within the data center.
- Oversee warehouse inventory and asset tracking using our internal management system.
- Handle labeling and diagnostics for fiber and optical cabling.
Install, inspect, and repair power supply cabling and related components.
- Set up racks, servers, and switches; including positioning, cabling, powering on, and handing off to the provisioning team for customer deployment.
- Respond to and resolve operational tickets within the data center using Jira, supporting cross-functional teams at xAI.
- Develop and update documentation for tasks and standard operating procedures.
- Receive new hardware and manage the decommissioning process for retired equipment.
- Coordinate vendor returns for infrastructure components, both under warranty and out of warranty.
- Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts within the data center.
- Design and implement network configurations and solutions tailored to our data center environments.
- Must have strong Linux skills including:
Navigating the systems directories and filing system
Manipulating files in the Linux shell
User permission configuration
Package installation and software management
Ability to identify and apply different filesystem types
Using Linux commands for process management
Basic troubleshooting and debugging
Bash or other scripting

Skills and Requirements
-5+ years of experience in a data center or IT atmosphere with in-depth Linux experience
- Strong Linux skills - manipulating filed in Linux shell, navigating system directories, user permission configuration, package installations
- Experience in Python, Bash or other scripting languages (preferably writing the scripts, not just running)
- HS Diploma
- MUST be able to relocate to Memphis, TN (assistance provided) - Fiber cabling knowledge and knowledge of power and cooling concepts inside a data center
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing servers and networking infrastructure
- Experience or knowledge defining, designing, and implementing network layouts and solutions within our data centers
- Experience with one or many - Bash commands, Linux, fiber, python automation scripting, triaging, GB200, GB100, H100, A100, liquid cooling, previous AI hardware experience null
