Position Description
The position is responsible for locating, marking and documenting various underground facilities, such as pipelines, electrical and automation cables, and any other underground facilities owned or operated by the Company. Essential duties and responsibilities: • Report all unsafe and environmental issues to supervisor. • Seek out new ways of doing things. • Protect underground utilities from damage during projects involving excavations. • Help in other areas of the business as needed. • Maintain company vehicle and equipment appropriately. • Use a locator to locate and mark all utilities required by the company, willing to witness all 3rd party crossings, document, update ticket status and file all required paperwork. • Responsible for using and taking care of locating equipment and hand tools. • Must be a self-starter and be able to perform work with little supervision. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet required deadlines. • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education and/or experience: • High school degree or equivalent. • General knowledge of compressor stations, gathering system, and processing plant operations. • Working knowledge of mechanical equipment. • Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids, and high-pressure systems. • Follows company policies, practices, and regulatory requirements. • Proficient computer skills. Qualifications: • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Customer orientation. • Ability to effectively present information in a one–on-one and small group situation to other employees of the company and outside contractors. • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals). Certificates, licenses, registrations: • Valid state operating license with acceptable driving record. May work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position. • Routinely react to visual, aural and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work. • Regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level a load up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., and apply up to 150 foot pounds of torque. • Regularly get into and out of vehicles and ride over rough roads. • Walk an average of 5 miles per day, up to 7 miles per day. • Candidates may be subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing requirements, • Subject to overtime and callouts.
