Requirements:

The successful candidate would need to live close to the geographic area that they would be assigned. Roughly, the triangle of Anniston, Sylacauga, and Roanoke, AL located in Eastern Division. We would like the candidate to live within the geographic area OR be located no farther than 1 hour from either Roanoke or Sylacauga, AL. This worker will be field checking 3-4 days a week.
This candidate would be working primarily in our new residential area but could be utilized for our Commercial and Industrial areas in the future.

PPE: Hard hat, steel toed boots, safety glasses, traffic vest, FR clothes on occasion Successful candidates must provide their own safety boots Education: A bachelor's degree in lighting design, electrical engineering, architecture, or a related field. Lighting design certifications (e.g., LC - Lighting Certified) are advantageous. Experience:

Proven experience in lighting design and engineering, preferably in a consulting or architectural firm. Familiarity with lighting design software (e.g., AGi32, Dialux) is beneficial.

A Lighting Services Engineer is a professional responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining lighting systems for various applications, such as commercial buildings, residential spaces, outdoor environments, and industrial facilities. They collaborate with clients, architects, and project teams to create effective and energy-efficient lighting solutions. Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of lighting principles, photometry, and the use of lighting fixtures, controls, and technologies. Codes and Standards: Familiarity with lighting codes, standards, and regulations, including ASHRAE, IESNA, and energy codes. Software Proficiency: Proficiency in lighting design software, AutoCAD, and other relevant design tools. Creativity: Strong design and creative skills to develop innovative lighting solutions. Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey design concepts and solutions to clients and project teams. Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail for accurate calculations and designs. Teamwork: Collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients. Responsibilities: Design Lighting Systems: Collaborate with clients and architects to understand project requirements and objectives. Design lighting systems that meet aesthetic, functional, and energy-efficiency goals. Lighting Calculations: Perform lighting calculations and simulations to determine the appropriate fixtures, luminance levels, and lighting layouts for different spaces. Energy Efficiency: Focus on energy-efficient lighting design by incorporating LED technology, daylight harvesting, and other sustainable practices to reduce energy consumption and environmental impact. Technical Drawings: Create detailed lighting plans, technical drawings, and specifications that can be used by contractors and installers for construction and implementation. Product Selection: Select lighting fixtures, controls, and accessories based on project requirements, budget constraints, and client preferences. Compliance: Ensure that lighting designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including energy codes, safety guidelines, and accessibility requirements. Site Visits: Conduct site visits and evaluations to assess existing lighting conditions, troubleshoot issues, and gather data for retrofit or renovation projects. Budget Management: Estimate project costs, prepare lighting budgets, and monitor expenses to stay within budgetary constraints. Project Management: Manage lighting projects from concept to completion, coordinating with contractors, electricians, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate installation. Quality Control: Perform quality control inspections to verify that lighting systems are installed correctly and function as designed. Commissioning: Oversee the commissioning process to ensure that lighting controls and systems operate efficiently and according to design specifications. Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, change orders, and as-built records. Client Communication: Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with the lighting solutions. Technology Integration: Explore and integrate smart lighting systems, automation, and controls to enhance user experience and energy savings. This position requires driving (excluding commute)
