**Amentum** is seeking a **Light Duty Mechanic** to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission in **Andros Island, Bahamas** . AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. **Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.** **Please note this is for a future requirement coming available within the next couple of months.** **Essential Responsibilities:** + Diagnose and repair all manner of vehicles and equipment. + Perform general preventive maintenance. + Respond to “road” call for emergency repairs. + Read and understand manufacturers’ shop manuals. + Be familiar with automotive electrical systems and troubleshooting. + Prepare and submit order/requisitions for parts. + Provide complete documentation of all maintenance and repairs. + Repair and maintain tools and equipment. + Use of hand and power tools and electronic diagnostic equipment. + Repair or help repair cranes IAW with Navy Crane Center regulations. + Perform other duties as assigned. + Perform weekly “On Call” duties in rotation with other mechanics. **Minimum Requirements:** + 5 years of diagnostic and mechanical repair experience. + Must have a High School diploma or equivalent. + Class A or B CDL required. + Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. + Must be able to regularly stand/bend at waist/stoop/crouch and lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. + Must be able to work in loud environment. + Must be able to work on uneven terrain. + Must be knowledgeable in operation of Snap-on scan and diagnostic tool. + Read and understand technical/repair manuals. + Excellent oral and written communication skills. + **Must be able to reside in remote work location with limited medical facilities.** + **Valid U.S. passport and driver's license required.** + **Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.** **Preferred Qualifications:** + ASE certifications for light vehicles and air conditioning preferred.
