Lifeguard 1 Job Details Job Location Schenectady JCC - Schenectady, NY Position Type Part Time Salary Range $16.00 - $17.50 Hourly Description LIFEGUARD 1 Department: Aquatics Job Classification: Part Time Supervised by: Aquatics Director/Assistant Director Position Summary: Under the Supervision of Aquatics Management lifeguards will ensure the safety of patrons of the aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. Weekday evenings 4:00pm-8:00pm Responsibilities & Duties: + Maintain a high level of professionalism + Will be rescue ready ( swimsuit, uniform, whistle, & personal protective equipment) + Remain vigilant and act quickly in making rescues and rendering aid + Enforce water safety standards (rules) and departmental regulations + Actively participate in all in-service trainings and drills + Exhibits excellent customer service + Maintain a clean and safe work area, which may include monitoring pool chlorine levels + Assist supervisors as requested + Provide excellent customer service to all members Qualifications Qualifications: + Current American Red Cross Lifeguard; First Aid, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer; Waterfront Certifications. + Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness + Have an understanding of EAP procedures Physical Demands: + Good physical condition and strength. + Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. + Able to sit for long periods of time. + Able to squat and bend at the waist We offer competitive wages and benefits including health insurance, paid time off, holiday pay, 401k and free membership.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.
