Role Purpose
As a Lifecycle Group Leader at Viatris, you will shape and drive the global strategy for late-stage development programs, leading cross-functional teams to deliver innovative therapies to patients worldwide. You will be responsible for steering assets from development through launch, ensuring scientific, regulatory, and commercial success. This role is pivotal in aligning internal and external stakeholders, managing strategic partnerships, and contributing to business development efforts in a dynamic, high-impact environment.

The job holder has global responsibilities to define the overall strategy for compound development, through life cycle and implementation of such strategy including supporting business development.The Lifecycle Group leader will have such responsibilities over one or more late-stage development programs.Ensure timely execution of the development plan across the different divisions of Viatris.Managerial responsibilities over 6-8 program team members representing strategic functions from preclinical, CMC, clinical pharmacology, clinical science, biometry, regulatory, market access and program management.Present the Life Cycle Team strategy and recommendations to the Viatris Management Boards (Development and Executive Committees)Represent the Life Cycle Team or Life Cycle Group in Business Development activities.Supervise Alliance/Partnership activities of his/her asset(s) under co-developments.Maintain close working contacts with all stakeholder functions.
About Your Skills & Experience
For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
University degree (preferable MSc, PhD or MD) or equivalentStrong managerial and excellent leadership skillsAt least 15 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industryExcellent understanding of global drug development from entry-into-man to post-approval activities, including regulatory & market access environments, marketing & commercial aspectsProven experience as successful leader in strategic cross-functional environment and matrix environmentHas worked on a project that required activity/milestone achievement to 'file' the compound and/or prepare/launch the product.Has managed complex projects with ambitious milestones in high-pressure circumstances.Strong people management and leadership skills, demonstrated success in fostering team collaboration.Strong strategic planning and priority setting capabilities, ability to initiate, develop, and implement changes at the product and group level.Ability to accurately monitor and analyse market trends, competitive landscape, and proactively derive insights to inform decision making.Fluent in English (German and French would be advantage)3 days per week is required in the Allschwil Office, Basel.
