FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day, Schedule: Sunday - Thursday, 10:30am - 7pm

Position Summary

As a Life Skills Assistant you will help clients with cognitive, physical or emotional needs develop skills for independent living by assisting them with their daily tasks. You will explain and keep clients informed of housing rules, and model housecleaning and sanitary habits to tenants to assist them prepare for annual housing inspections and maintain housing.

Responsibilities:

Develops household management and self-care plans for housekeeping, meal preparation, sanitary habits and money managementExplains housing rules established by owner or management, such as sanitation or maintenance requirements and parking regulationsAdvises clients regarding food budgets, food stamps and food choicesRecommends alternate economical and nutritional food choices and alternate methods of food preparationDemonstrates use and care of household equipment, maintains upkeep and cleanliness of apartments and assists in doing laundry, in partnership with clientDocuments progress on client interactionsTransports and accompanies clients to go grocery shopping

Requirements

High school degree or GED requiredValid Washington State Drivers’s License with clear data abstract1 year of experience working with persistently mentally ill patients preferredMust be eligible and apply for a Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor within 30 days and obtain within 90 days of placement in job, unless a higher credential is held

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $18.75 - $26.99 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
