JOB OVERVIEW
As Subject Lead, you will provide academic coordination to ensure excellent student outcomes, uphold quality assurance and enhancement standards aligned with QAA commendations, and drive curriculum innovation through strong collaboration with both the University and our wider network.
Reporting to the Head of STEM, you will coordinate and support the academic team, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of the required student progression rates to the University. You will oversee the science provision within the Centre and take academic responsibility for the Foundation, International Year One (IY1), or Pre-Masters Programme (PMP) within the Life Sciences and Physical Sciences subject areas.
The ideal candidate will bring recent, successful academic coordination experience in a relevant discipline, along with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) on academic development initiatives.
This is a maternity cover position, expected to run until August 2026.

Ensure the recruitment of academic staff is planned, timely and compliant.Ensure that the academic team meet key minimum expectations/compliance in their duties and provide feedback on their performance.Taking responsibility for academic standards, the quality of learning opportunities, the accuracy and completeness of published information, ensuring that they are managed appropriately and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the College.Contribute to ensuring that the Centre is fully compliant with Study Group’s, Cardiff University’s and relevant external agencies’ quality frameworks, policies, procedures, and codes of practice.Work closely with the Head of Student Experience and their function heads to ensure that timetables and assessment schedules are delivered effectively, staff are recruited compliantly, and Professional Services (PS) and Academic staff work together as one team.Develop close and effective working relations with key partners within Cardiff University, including Pathway and School Link Tutors.ABOUT YOUA bachelor's degree and post graduate qualification in a relevant subject.Experience of providing feedback to another person about their performance, which achieved a positive improvement.Experience of HR duties, such as delivering training and taking part in the recruitment process.Ability to delegate activities set deadlines and take responsibility for overseeing their successful completion to meet challenging deadlines.Experience of successfully leading on internal communication, which includes disseminating complex messages or changes to operations.Experience of working with international students and an understanding of welfare, well-being and cultural issues which may arise.Experience of data management and interpretation, and quality assurance.A sound understanding of UK higher education and experience.Strong team-working skills and experience of team development.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate issues to a wide audience.Knowledge of the needs of international students and experience of working with international students.ABOUT USStudy Group is a leading international education provider that is dedicated and passionate about helping students around the world, creating a brighter future and reaching their full potential.
