Job Summary: Licensing Specialist is responsible for reviewing and evaluating applications for community-based programs for licensure approval or renewal.Provides technical assistance of licensure standards for proposed and existing community-based programs. Evaluates proposed and existing programs by processing applications for licensure and certification of facilities. Will process applications and reports. Will assists public and/or community agencies with information about the DPSQA HCBS programs and services. Assists providers and prospective providers with program applications to receive DPSQA certification/license, conducts verification that all files are consistent with last application submitted, works with licensing leadership on functionality and usability of databases. Position Information Job Series:Administrative Support – Career-path Classification:Licensing Coordinator Class Code:PAS09P Pay Grade:SGS03 Salary Range:$39,171 - $57,973 Job Summary The Licensing Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the licensing and regulatory processes for a department. This position involves coordinating the processing, verification, and approval of applications for licenses, certifications, or permits, ensuring that all licensing procedures are compliant with state laws and regulations. The Licensing Coordinator may lead a team of licensing specialists, review complex or sensitive licensing issues, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Primary Responsibilities Coordinate the overall licensing process, ensuring compliance with applicable state laws, regulations, and policies. Mentor and lead a team of Licensing Specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely processing of applications. Develop and implement procedures to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and consistency of licensing operations. Review and approve complex or escalated licensing applications, including conducting investigations as needed to verify compliance with state laws. Maintain accurate records of licensing activities, ensuring that all required documentation is complete and properly filed. Respond to inquiries from applicants, licensees, and other stakeholders regarding licensing requirements, status, and issues. Collaborate with other departments, agencies, or organizations to ensure coordination and consistency in licensing processes. Monitor changes in state laws, regulations, or policies related to licensing and update procedures accordingly. Assist in the development of public education materials or outreach programs to inform the public about licensing requirements and processes. Prepare reports on licensing activities, providing data and analysis to agency leadership. Knowledge and Skills In-depth knowledge of state licensing laws, regulations, and processes. Proficient in using computer systems and databases for record-keeping, tracking, and reporting. Attention to detail and the ability to ensure accuracy in licensing documents and processes.
