Acredale Animal Hospital of Kempsville is located in Virginia Beach, Virginia and has been serving the Hampton Roads community in coastal Virginia since 1986. We have years of experience treating serious conditions and offering regular pet wellness care for dogs and cats. We are a full-service animal hospital and welcome emergency treatment cases as well as pet patients in need of routine medical, surgical, and dental care. We have all of the modern equipment you would expect, including digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory equipment, forced triad electrosurgical cutting with ligasure, and oxygen supplementation housing for patients. Role Summary We are seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our growing team and help ensure we are providing those great experiences. FT & PT opportunities available! Your Responsibilties: Professional client communication and education obtaining medical histories and symptoms Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals Diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols of fellow staff members Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, anaesthesia monitoring Proficient in dental prophylaxis Your Qualifications: Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state. (SVP will pay for a transfer / additional state licensing for DC if applicable).
