RQ Construction is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief (licensed surveyor required) to join our growing Self-Perform Building Trades team. The position will be based out of the Jacksonville, NC\/Camp Lejeune area but may support other regional projects as well. This role will lead and execute construction surveys and stakeout activities for a variety of government projects.\n

Key Responsibilities\n\nLead, coordinate, and execute construction surveys and stakeout activities for RQC projects.\nProcess design data into base survey files using AutoCAD Civil 3D.\nWork with topographic data, utility mapping, grading plans, and GIS datasets to ensure project accuracy.\nDirect and oversee survey field crews, ensuring compliance with project requirements and surveying regulations.\nPerform hand calculations and utilize survey equipment as needed.\nPrepare and deliver licensed surveyor\u2011stamped GIS deliverables for submittal to DORs.\nTravel to project sites on military base installations as required.\n\n

Required Qualifications\n
Education\n\nAssociate degree (AAS) in Land Surveying, or\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Forestry, or a related field.\n\n
Licenses & Certifications\n\nMust be a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in NC or able to obtain licensure prior to assignment.\nActive Surveyor\u2011in\u2011Training (SIT) or other Geomatics certification preferred.\n\n
Experience\n\nMinimum 3+ years of experience as a lead survey instrument operator.\nExperience in building and land surveying and construction stakeout preferred.\nDemonstrated proficiency in preparing deliverables that meet DOR requirements.\n\n
Technical Skills\n\nProficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D (v2017 or higher).\nKnowledge of survey equipment, field data collection techniques, and GIS workflows.\nStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.\n\n
