Job Summary
Deliver comprehensive nursing care while providing leadership and collaborating closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. Educate patients and their families with personalized information tailored to their age, diagnosis, and comprehension level, under provider guidance.
Key Responsibilities
+ Support providers during patient visits by preparing patients, conducting interviews, recording vital signs, and updating electronic medical records.
+ Keep exam rooms clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
+ Perform select clinical tests such as blood glucose checks, rapid HIV, flu, and strep tests. Ensure safe equipment use and accurate specimen labeling.
+ Monitor and document changes in patient conditions and report them promptly.
+ Administer medications and vaccines as prescribed, adhering to the six rights of medication administration and managing IV lines.
+ Assist with medical procedures, including pre- and post-care, participating in Time Out protocols, and providing intra-procedural support.
+ Follow infection control protocols and apply aseptic techniques as needed.
+ Handle patient phone calls, provide follow-ups as directed, and escalate clinical concerns to the appropriate provider.
Essential Skills
+ Strong patient care abilities
+ Appointment scheduling experience
+ Familiarity with medical terminology
+ Insurance verification knowledge
+ Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credentials
+ Proficiency in Athena and scheduling systems
+ Solid understanding of healthcare practices
+ Case management capabilities
Qualifications
+ Active LPN license in the State of Iowa, in good standing
+ Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification for healthcare providers
+ Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $71760.00/yr.
