The Licensed Counselor is responsible for: 

Member of a collaborative practice model that includes patients, nurses, clinical resource coordinators, physicians, and other practitioners, caregivers, and the community. Knowledgeable about disease, treatment, social and economic implications for individuals and families as it pertains to their age, stage of psychosocial development and discharge needs. Pragmatic in approaching End of Life and ethical issues.

Education:

Masters in social work, Mental Health Counseling, or Community Counseling. Experience:

6-month Internship in an acute care setting or 1-year social services in an acute health care setting.Certifications and Licensures: 

Required - LCSW (Social Work); Or - LMHC (Mental Health). Select departments may also accept LMFT (Marriage and Family) as equal qualification.
