**Description**
**Overview**
Are you a design student with a passion for the performing arts, storytelling, or public spaces? The New York Public Library has been a vital resource for books, information, and inspiration for over 100 years—and design plays a key role in how we share that with the public. As a Page in the Creative Design & Exhibitions department, you’ll gain firsthand experience supporting design work within a library and museum context. This opportunity offers exposure to exhibition design, visual communication, and the creative processes behind public-facing materials. You’ll work alongside experienced designers and learn how your skills can contribute to cultural institutions. We’re looking for creative, motivated individuals with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. A friendly, collaborative attitude is essential—you’ll be a valued part of the team and a representative of the Library.
_The library page position is scheduled for 19 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Schedules are variable based on library needs and may be subject to change._
**Required Education & Experience**
+ Current enrollment in a degree program at an accredited school
**Key Responsibilities**
Under the direction of a Page supervisor, the Library Page:
+ Supports the graphic and exhibition design team on ongoing exhibitions and branded projects and engages in each phase of the design process
+ Helps maintain brand standards across all organizational communications as appropriate
+ Assists designers and Supervising Museum Maintainer during installation and removal of exhibitions
+ Helps organize and maintain files
+ Projects high standard of service both within the exhibitions team and with internal Library clients
+ Performs other related tasks as needed
**Required Education, Experience & Skills**

+ Current enrollment in a degree program at an accredited school
+ Proper employment certificate for minors under 18 (https://www.labor.ny.gov/workerprotection/laborstandards/workprot/minors.shtm) as required by NYS law
**Required Skills**
+ Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator), Mac environments, and Google Applications
+ Strong organizational skills and ability to follow detailed instruction in a fast-paced environment
+ Superb interpersonal and communication skills
+ Strong problem-solving skills
+ Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
+ Demonstrated reliability and professionalism
+ Passion for design and typography
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Knowledge of Google SketchUp or Vectorworks is a plus
