Job SummaryThe Armenian Research Center (ARC) at the University of Michigan-Dearborn is seeking a part-time Assistant to help with sorting and organizing the Center's library and collections.
Responsibilities*Assist with sorting, shelving and retrieving materialsIdentify and manage duplicate itemsCompile lists of uncatalogued resources and create basic finding aidsCreate container lists and directories Prepare materials for long-term storageUpdate and maintain the ARC?s internal catalogRequired Qualifications*Fluency in Armenian, written and verbal. With the ability to recognize the orthographic differences between its Eastern and Western versionsAbility to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detailExcellent organizational, administrative, and follow-up skillsDesired Qualifications*Enrollment in or recent completion of a Master?s-level program in Library Science, or a related fieldProficiency in Turkish, RussianFamiliarity with MARC records and basic cataloging practicesPrior work with physical collectionsExperience in producing and organizing educational or promotional video content for social media platforms (Facebook Instagram, YouTube)Experience in designing posters and flyers using tools such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, or PhotoshopModes of Work
