What you will do as a Library Aide
Assist patrons in locating desired material and provide instruction in use of computer card catalog.Prepare and type reference, book and transaction cards.Maintain books on shelves. Shelving books in proper place.Handle money collected for overdue, lost books and other chargesSchedule civic organations into meeting room.Enter and updare patrons's records on computers.Process new materials including books, audiovisual materials and computer softwareSort books, publications, and other items according to established procedure and return them to shelves, files or other designated areas.Instruct patrons, including books, periodicals, tape cassettes, Braille volumes, and pictures.Maintain records of items received, stored, issued, and retuned, and file catalog cards according to system used.Someone that loves to read is a plus.
Work Experience
Preferred candidate might have:
High school diploma or equvalentBookkeepingTypingComputer SkillsOperate video conferencing, projector, gaming system, and other office equipment.Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop.Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry 25 pounds on a frequesnt basis.
