Liability Underwriter

The Opportunity To enable us to continue the rapid growth of our Liability portfolio we are looking to appoint an Underwriter to ensure our retail and broker clients’ needs are fully met. Working within a small team of underwriters who will support and mentor you, you’ll develop your technical knowledge and key relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally through associated networking. Key responsibilities will include: + Analysing, evaluating and rating qualifying business across a variety of industry segments. + Covering a range of administrative responsibilities including new business, renewals and issuance of documentation such as Invoice, Adjustments, Policy Schedule and Certificates + Responding to broker needs promptly and efficiently + Developing value-add relationships to targeted intermediary markets, brokers nationally, and key stakeholders internally and externally. + Assisting with enhancement of underwriting systems, the drive for innovation in product development and a range of ad-hoc projects as the business grows further + Compliance with statutory, FSRA, industry, One Underwriting’s, our insurer’s and Aon policies and procedures + Attendance at various industry conventions, such as the Sydney UAC event To be successful in this role you will display: + General Insurance experience is essential, business package or commercial Liability is highly regarded + A background from an underwriting agency or insurer for at least 12 months + Strong communication skills and high attention to detail + Passion for providing exemplary and prompt service to the broking community, service is one area where we set ourselves apart from the market + Teamwork, a great attitude and a willingness to continue to learn and establish your underwriting career. + High level of computer literacy, with a knowledge of Microsoft Excel This role will be reporting to a Portfolio Manager who will provide the opportunity to up-skill. You will be afforded the opportunity over time to work across various Liability products, building your brand and network.
