Liability Claims Consultant

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Claims team at Marsh. This role will be based in the Brisbane – Newstead office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Liability Claims Consultant, you will manage our public liability/professional indemnity claim files including claims falling within the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act from initial contact to assessment, investigation, and resolution. The role involves liaising with internal staff, clients, claimants and providers in an administrative capacity via telephone and email.  It is important that you're comfortable working in an office environment with a high level of administration and communication skills both via email and telephone. 

We will count on you to:

As a liability claims consultant your role will entail: 

Liaising with clients, claimants, and service providers 

Providing analysis of claims as required 

Preparing necessary correspondence to advance/resolve claims 

Regularly reviewing and updating claims information as required 

  

What you need to have:

A Degree in Law (practicing certificate no required)

Excellent customer or client service skills, with proven experience

Ability to enter information accurately and swiftly into databases 

Excellent communication with the ability to communicate with people at all levels with consideration and respect for ethnicity and cultural diversity 

Proficient in using Microsoft Office products to support administration requirements of the role

Able to manage changing priorities and accept and adapt to changes within those priorities 

Motivated to succeed through being results oriented while maintaining client focus and a professional attitude 

What makes you stand out:

Knowledge of Personal Injuries Proceedings Act and Civil Liability Act will be viewed favourably. 

Willing to accept responsibility and accountability for own decisions and work 

Ability to navigate multiple internal systems whilst adhering to the Privacy Act 2000 

Ability to be a self-starter and be self-motivated. 

Advanced Excel and Word skills.
