Liability Claims Advocate

As a global leader in insurance broking and risk management, Marsh helps clients succeed by defining, designing, and delivering innovative, industry-specific solutions to effectively manage risk. This role will be based in Los Angeles or Irvine, CA (qualified candidates from other locations could also be considered). This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

What can you expect?

The Liability Claims Advocate will provide exceptional claims advocacy, assisting clients in resolving their most complex and financially challenging claims. This role requires a deep understanding of intricate insurance programs for corporate clients, industry-specific knowledge, and familiarity with Marsh’s extensive resources.

What will you be responsible for?

Managing and resolving clients’ largest and most complex claims to conclusion

Preparing coverage arguments and negotiating with insurers and/or consultants

Identifying appropriate policies and coverages

Selling claims services and solutions to clients by articulating the value proposition

Collaborating with placement teams and internal colleagues on specific client issues

Analyzing claims data to develop action plans that manage the client’s total cost of risk

Adhering to company policies and procedures related to correspondence, timekeeping, expense reporting, licensing, and billing

What do you need to have?

Minimum of 5 years of insurance or legal services experience with a proven track record of results

Experience handling general liability claims within commercial lines

Strong oral and written communication skills

Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel) or equivalent

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $97,000 to $206,600.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
