Reliability and Maintenance Leveraged Engineer – E&I AP

The E&I Leveraged R&M team is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to support the Asia Pacific region for Integrated Operations.  This selected candidate will provide technical support to capital projects and plant operations, with a primary focus on supporting reliability and maintenance programs across our Asia Pacific region sites. This position will also support the Machine Safety program across the region.

This position provides maintenance and reliability systems and equipment consulting across the Company. Performs improvement audits at plant sites, identifies gaps in a site's work practices and helps define the business value for improvements. Performs technical consulting in various offerings such as root cause failure analysis, reliability centered maintenance, TEEP/OEE support, and preventative maintenance programs. Interacts with plant/business stakeholders, suppliers and contractors to accomplish business improvements that bring value to the sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Applying appropriate reliability tools to drive improvements, optimize costs, and improve Asset Reliability (i.e., Bad Actor Program, FMEA, RBI, RBM, RCM, Reliability Roadmap, etc.). Supporting and teaching sites the process development of Critical Equipment lists. Leading Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFAs) and corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems. Supporting capital projects by supplying engineering expertise in the specification, design, and construction of capital projects in accordance with plant design requirements as well as regulatory and company standards. Training and mentoring maintenance planner/schedulers to ensure maintenance and reliability issues are addressed correctly and efficiently.Support sites identifying areas of cost reduction and prepare preventative Maintenance requirements for new and existing equipment. Active support of all EH&S policies and procedures including being a main point of contact for Machine Safety Support in the region.Apply and interpret industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ASTM,ISO) and ensure compliance with RAGAGEPs.Identify and promote best practices (including national and international standards) for designing, operating, and maintaining pressure vessels, tanks, non-metallics, piping and heat exchangers.Collaborate with process engineers and project teams to ensure mechanical design alignment with process requirements.Provide technical input during equipment procurement, fabrication, and installation phases.Support the development and maintenance of corporate engineering standards related to mechanical design.Apply fitness-for-service concepts to evaluate flaws and other damage mechanisms on existing mechanical systems.Provide operating and maintenance support to recommend and help implement solutions for process equipment across DuPont facilities.Design maintenance strategies, procedures and methods to sustain and improve equipment reliability.Develop, lead and implement programs/systems/processes and equipment upgrades that improve equipment reliability/OEE(e.g., PPM systems, techniques and schedules, material recommendations, troubleshooting guides, repair plans, training, spare parts, etc.).Monitor equipment performance and trouble shoot equipment problems.Analyze equipment trends, historical data, and Uptime data to recommend and justify improvements to obtain lowest life cycle cost. 

The R&M Leveraged Engineer will collaborate with DuPont resources and cross-functional teams to achieve timely solutions to business challenges.  This individual will also be a member of the SWAT team, responding rapidly to critical business issues in Asia pacific region, such as equipment failure leading to plant shutdowns, manufacturing limitations restricting rates, or other urgent matters impacting production or revenue.

Required Qualifications

BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field coupled with a minimum of 7 years’ experience primarily in mechanical engineering, reliability and maintenance engineering, plant technical support of equipment and systems.Strong background in static and rotating equipment, automated equipment, and piping systems.Working knowledge of non-metallics such as plastic piping and vessels, FRP tanks, plastic-lined piping and vessels for the design, inspection, and repair.Proficiency in engineering documentation and familiarity with capital project execution.Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA, PED, Local Pressure Vessel Codes) and RAGAGEPs (e.g., ASME, API, ASTM)Must have an in-depth understanding and experience using CMMS Systems including SAP-PM.Able to travel occasionally within the Asia Pacific region to support project needs. (average 35% of time)Must have an in-depth understanding of industrial maintenance procedures including work planning, Asset Criticality Assessments, Preventative Maintenance Plans, and Spare Parts Optimization. Must have experience with Predictive Maintenance Technologies including Vibration Monitoring, Lubrication Monitoring, and Electrical Equipment Predictive technologies.In-depth understanding of the S1M Machine Safety Management Program and Local and International Machine Safety Standards.Must be fluent in writing and speaking both English and Mandarin Chinese.
