Level 2 or 3 Lift Electrician
Overview Big Sky Resort is seeking experienced Lift Electricians with prior ski lift maintenance industry experience. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient electrical operation of all lift systems, including gondolas and high-speed chairlifts. As part of the Lift Maintenance team, the Level 2 or 3 Lift Electrician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical components and systems related to lift operations. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong background in electrical systems, attention to detail, and the ability to work in mountain environments and challenging weather conditions. Responsibilities Perform daily electrical inspections and safety checks on aerial lift systems Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults and component failures across various lift types Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and manufacturer manuals Understand and comply with all ANSI B77.1 standards, state and federal regulations Work at heights up to 80 feet using ladders, towers, and fall protection equipment Assist with start-up procedures before lift operations begin each morning Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance and repairs performed Collaborate with Lift Maintenance teammates and other departments to ensure safe and timely lift operations Use good judgment and a proactive mindset to address potential issues before they affect operations Maintain a professional and positive demeanor, especially in high-stress situations Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age Minimum of 2 years of ski lift maintenance industry experience, specifically in electrical work Working knowledge of low and high voltage systems, PLCs, sensors, motors, and VFDs Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics Valid driver’s license required Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and at heights Ability to ski or snowboard is required for access to mountain work locations Basic electrical tool set required Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. unassisted Must be able to push/pull equipment and components weighing up to 80 lbs. with assistance Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods and climb multiple flights of stairs or towers Be a part of our full-time year round team and enjoy these great benefits!   Free Ski Pass for you, your spouse and dependents  FREE Golf Pass for you, your spouse and dependents  Free Scenic Lift Pass for you, your spouse and dependents   FREE Basecamp activities including zip line courses and discounted passes for spouse and dependents   Steep Lodging discounts for accommodation for friends and family (blackout dates apply)   25% off Food discount at all outlets with charging privileges  20%-30% off Retail discount at all outlets with charging privileges, gear and sponsor discounts   Eligibility for affordable employee housing, a short walk or free bus ride away from work    401k and Health benefits for you and your family
