Job overview and responsibilities

United’s Legal Department is a recipient of Corporate Counsel’s Best Legal Department Award!  Our department is seeking a legal operations manager with proven experience in data analytics and managing the day-to-day administrative operations of a corporate legal department while supporting and driving strategic initiatives.  This position reports to the Chief Legal Operations Officer and plays a pivotal role in optimizing the department to run more efficiently and effectively.

Leverage data analytics to evaluate the department’s processes/systems/workflows as well as internal/external performance and identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement; track, develop, analyze, and report on key performance indicators, benchmarks, and other metrics; maintain and develop dashboards and other reporting tools; help design and implement improvement strategies and best practicesPrepare, track, and regularly update budget forecasts of outside spend; track discount agreements and ensure compliance; enforce billing guidelines and conduct certain first level law firm invoice reviewsManage and optimize the Legal Department’s technology stack, including systems administration, providing training and support to attorneys and legal professionals, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with the IT Department; research, evaluate, and implement new legal technology tools and drive adoptionProvide miscellaneous office and administrative support when neededQualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

Bachelor's degree4+ years of experience in legal operationsMeticulous attention to detailExceptional organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skillsResourceful self-starter with ability to multi-task effectivelyExcellent data analytics skills and business judgmentProficiency with Tableau, Power BI, or similar analytical toolsGood financial acumenStrong project management, change management, and process improvement abilitiesAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environmentMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

 

 



What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

 

 

5+ years of experience managing legal operations for a corporate legal departmentHands-on experience as a systems administrator for an e-billing system and document management systemProficiency with Microsoft Excel (Lookup functions)
The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $129,924.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
