**About the Role**
As a Legal Director EMEA, you’ll play a key role in supporting an extremely innovative business, with an impressively broad range of product and service offerings (from data licensing and use, advanced analytics, technology offerings (including artificial intelligence), and consulting services; to clinical research). Your primary responsibility will be to provide the support to internal stakeholders in Italy and Greece, but will participate in regional projects as well. You’ll have the autonomy to own your work, the tools to succeed, and the opportunity to collaborate across functions to drive meaningful outcomes.

**Key Responsibilities**
• Legal Advisory & Compliance: Deliver business-oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders on all matters related to the business operations, with a focus on data privacy, intellectual property and competition law matters. Proactively identify potential legal risks and compliance requirements under EU and national law, and recommend appropriate actions and/or mitigation strategies.
• Contracting Support: Review, draft, and negotiate a diverse array of commercial contracts with customers, vendors, and third parties (including data and technology licensing, professional services, master services, data processing and collaboration agreements).
• Stakeholder Interaction: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, as necessary, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues. Maintain positive and constructive relationships with external counsels, regulatory bodies and industry associations.
• Public Tenders: Provide legal support with public tender responses, ensuring compliance with internal processes and strategic alignment.
• M&A Integration Support: May participate in due diligence and assist in the preparation of documents for corporate transactions. Lead post-acquisition commercial contracting integration efforts, ensuring seamless transitions and compliance for newly acquired entities into existing IQVIA contracting processes.
• Disputes: Provide legal support with resolving customer and vendor disputes in an efficient manner, ensuring fair and cost-effective outcomes.
• Legal Operations & Process Optimization: Promote a forward-thinking legal operations approach, lead and support various projects, including process improvements, template and playbooks drafting, and new business initiatives to enhance legal operations.
• Training: Support with the development, maintenance, and dissemination of legal training, know-how and best practices for legal and business teams, promoting legal awareness and compliance.
**Qualifications and Experience**
• Bachelor's Degree and Law Degree, ideally with qualification to practice law in your jurisdiction.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience. Experience in international in-house legal roles is highly desirable. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
• Fluent in Italian and English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
• Requires management knowledge to lead in a matrix organization or a small team, as well as the ability to influence others outside of own job area regarding policies, procedures, and goals.
• Demonstrated success in supporting commercial contracting and providing general legal support, ideally in an international, in-house legal role.
• Strong background in the life sciences and/or IT sectors. The candidate will need to demonstrate experience and solid knowledge across multiple domains including commercial contracting law, regulatory compliance, data privacy, competition law and more.

• Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and/or drug development process
• Solid understanding of data business and relevant regulations
• Demonstrated ability to work creatively in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated sound decision-making skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, senior leaders and clients
• Excellent skills using MS Office Suite: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
