As Lawyer, you will provide assistance to the legal team in the following matters and such other matters as the legal team requires. Your objective will be to assume independant control of matters commensurate to your experience and capabilities:

Managing the governance of TotalEnergies companies in Papua New Guinea (company secretarial matters)Supporting the affiliate in the development and implementation of TotalEnergies procedures and policiesSupporting the joint venture ("JV") team with JV governance, management, and interpretation of legal/contractual obligationsSupporting the permitting and regulatory workstreams with respect to activities conducted in PNG, including tracking and maintaining a database of relevant legislation, ensuring national and local laws are properly observed and implemented, and providing management with weekly updates of published National GazettesConducting legal research and preparing draft advice and opinionsMonitoring and assisting with the management of legal disputesMonitoring the implementation and coordination of data privacy policies and activitiesReviewing procurement contracts, amendments and tendersManaging external counsel Candidate Profile

Expected qualifications:

Masters in Law.

Important: the candidate must have a minimum of 3 years relevantexperience in alignment with role he/she will perform as a VIE (visa requirements)

Technical skills:

Legally qualified ideally in common law but qualification in civil law juridictions will be considered

Computing skills:

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including use of AIWorking knowledge of legal research platforms is a plus

Languages:

English: level C1/C2 (Working language in PNG)French: level B2 Additional Information
