To ensure the future growth of the KONE Door Business, KONE has initiated a review of its Door Business to assess its optimal structure and synergies. The aim is to evaluate the best environment for growing the business in a way that benefits its customers, employees, and other stakeholders.
As Legal Counsel, you will lead and manage KDB’s legal and compliance function across Europe and in Australia, safeguarding the company’s reputation and business interests. You are responsible for advising on complex legal and commercial matters, managing legal risks, and ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will also oversee the development and implementation of policies and guidelines that align with both regional legal requirements and global standards, serving as the key point of contact for all legal and regulatory issues within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Leads, directs, evaluates, and develops legal function to ensure that the legal activities in KDB legal entities are conducted efficiently, accurately, ethically and according to corporate policies and relevant laws and regulationEstablishes appropriate legal policies, guidelines, standard contract terms, templates and training programs for the organization to ensure that KDB’s business is conducted in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations and internal legal policies and guidelines and in line with global requirements.Proactively protects and enforces the company’s intellectual property and other rights to obtain a competitive advantage.Provides strategic oversight and direction including external counsel selection and retention for all legal disputes, legal proceedings and investigations.Prevents legal and contractual problems by implementing effective preventive legal strategies.Collaborates with business colleagues to achieve targeted business results with acceptable level of legal riskKnowledge, education & experience
A generalist legal background (min 2-4 years of work experience) with strong commercial law experience, preferably across European jurisdictions.Solid leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.Experience in both in-house legal roles and/or top-tier law firms within a multinational environment.Excellent negotiation and communication skills.Law degree and fluency in English; other European languages are a plus.We offer
