Job Description

As Lawyer/Legal Counsel for Sales Market CL/PE/UY, you will be responsible for negotiating contracts, supporting all departments of the company to jointly ensure compliance with applicable law of the activities of the Management Board and proxies of the Company and other companies of the Capital Group in the sales market CL/PE/UY.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support the entire area of the company’s operations across Chile, Perú and Uruguay including all legal aspects of retail expansion.Act as a key legal partner to all functions within the company, by providing strategic legal advice, interpretation, pre-negotiation planning and risk assessments to ensure speed and quality in decisionsSupport in approval processes, advising stakeholders on legal risks, key terms and documentation requirements before sign offDraft, review, and negotiate a wide range of property and non-property related agreements, including: Agreements for Lease (AFLs), Retail and commercial leases, Deeds of variation, surrender, renewal, and license to occupy, termination letters, extension agreements, and side letters, and ensure that market practice is aligned with internal templates and global guidelinesRepresent the company in all types of proceedings and in non-litigious proceedings,Taking care of compliance with applicable law of the activities and proxies of the companies within the sales market and other companies of the H&M GroupCooperation with external law firms, requesting estimates and evaluationsSupport in continuous improvement of standard lease template agreements and legal processesKeeping records of contracts, powers of attorney, orders and other internal regulations, including control of their validity period,Legal training to other functions.

 

 

Qualifications

What you need to succeed:
We believe you have the understanding and interest in retail in general. You are a detail-oriented and result-driven person who is ambitious, humble and a fast learner. You are strategic thinker and you know how to react quickly to challenges.  As a person, we believe you value having your own responsibility, a fast pace, teamwork, and straightforward communication with a flexible attitude .

Besides your personality we see that you have:
•    An Chilean law degree, Bar  or similar
•    At least 5 years of professional experience as a lawyer in a law firm or legal department of a company,
•    Specific knowledge of contract law, commercial law, consumer law,  
•    Experience from leasing is meriting
•    At least 5 years of experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements (including lease agreements) 
•    Very good command of English in speech and writing, including legal language,
•    Proficiency in standard MS Office applications.
•    Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills

This is a full-time position, reporting into the Head Office Sales Manager.

This position is based in Chile. Only applicants who have the right to work in Chile will be considered
