Legal Counsel

Role description:

The Legal Counsel role will provide and coordinate delivery of legal services as part of Ardagh Group North America, with emphasis on commercial and corporate legal matters (customer and supplier contracts, commercial litigation, misc. corporate matters). The main area of focus is to support U.S. business units of Ardagh Metal Beverage and Ardagh Glass.

 

Responsibilities:

Prepare, negotiate, and advise on commercial contracts, including customer and procurement functions and the business units overall including, but not limited to, general corporate, sales, procurement, commercial litigation, and other legal general matters Manage assigned commercial litigation matters and supervise outside counsel when utilized Provide legal support on other areas including, but not limited to, intellectual property, regulatory matters, real estate, environmental, and financings, as directed by General Counsel Assist in compliance matters and trainings Other projects as determined by General Counsel, North America

Ability to assess risks, advise colleagues, prepare and negotiate variety of contracts that align with business goals and strategies Advising on risks and providing proactive and preventative legal counselling as well as managing assigned litigation matters and related supervision of external counsel Ensure adequate and appropriate internal reporting and communication to General Counsel or Associate General Counsels and respective business partners on applicable matters Continuous improvement in delivery of legal services in order to achieve legal counsel and assistance in order to drive business goals while advising on legal risks

 

Minimum skills / qualifications:

Juris Doctorate from accredited Law School Active member in good standing of at least one State Bar Three (3) years of relevant experience practicing law Wide spectrum of commercial contracts preparation, negotiation and counselling is fundamental. Experience in other related areas a plus but not mandatory Contract negotiation and preparation proficiency Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly while maintaining a sense of composure and calm Ability to manage negotiations and demands of colleagues Strong communication skills to interact with colleagues of all levels and ability to negotiate and be successful in dispute resolution Commercial and business law generalist Ability to provide legal counsel involving federal, state and local law.

 

Preferred skills / qualifications:

Three (3) years of law firm experience Prior experience working as in-house counsel Prior experience with commercial and/or transactional law Intellectual Property (IP) exposure Manufacturing and/or consumer packaged goods (CPG) experience

 

Compensation

The anticipated base annual salary range for this role is between $108,700 and $163,100 per year. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate. The final salary will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
