DHL Legal Services offers all business partners worldwide solution-oriented legal advice. We provide comprehensive support in contracts, negotiations, and processes with customers and suppliers as well as in general litigation and commercial law matters.
In a matrix organization, Legal Services is organized on the one hand according to regions and on the other hand according to global cross-sectional topics.
Job Purpose:
Develop and implement legal processes and procedures to identify and mitigate legal risks and protect DHL's legal and business interests in line with business needs, established legal framework, standards, applicable laws and regulations. Maintain a general oversight of legal matters across the countries within scope.
Your tasks:
Define and implement Legal strategy, frameworks and standards for the country while considering current/ future business plans and applicable laws and regulations Advise and counsel functional or operational area managers to ensure current or proposed business activities, policies, practices and transactions comply with relevant laws and regulations Review legal analyses and technical reports to recommend senior management on how to respond to legal issues or proposed changes in laws and regulations Review, negotiate and approve legal contracts, letters of agreement, and other documents related to trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters (for example loans, leases, purchase agreements, acquisitions, divestitures, employment contracts) to protect the organization’s legal and business interests Represent the organization in complex, controversial, significant, or specialized legal proceedings before courts, government agencies, or other authorities to protect organization's interests Prepare or review complex materials for external legal counsel so that they are well-prepared to represent the organization in legal proceedings. Manage relationships with external legal counsel to ensure the organization's interests are well-represented Coach less experienced legal staff and help them resolve problems Conduct work associated with Legal Counsel, Patent/Intellectual Property Law, Legal Research & Document Drafting, Contract Negotiation & Administration and Legal Records ManagementYour profile:
Minimum 4 years of experience in a commercial legal role, ideally within an in-house corporate environment; logistics or supply chain industry experience is a strong advantage (other industries will be considered) Strong understanding of Kazakh legislation and regulatory frameworks Strategic, commercial, and pragmatic legal mindset with a solutions-oriented approach Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal business stakeholders Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; a confident team player who can influence and engage across functions Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure Fluent in English and Russian; proficiency in Kazakh is a strong plus Master's degree in Law or equivalent legal qualificationAdditional Information:
