ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The Legal Counsel is tasked with ensuring the legal integrity of the organization and the governance of the commercial legal sphere.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

Management of litigation and advising the business regarding the potential outcomes and repercussions arising therein. Ensuring that the commercial legal sphere in the organization is secure which includes the intellectual property portfolio, contract management and marketing communications.Have a thorough knowledge regarding the laws applicable to the manufacture and sale of tobaccoAssist the Senior Legal Counsel to ensure all legal concerns and issues faced by the organization are alleviated and/or addressedManagement of external counsels on behalf of the organization including the coordination, correspondence and advising the Leadership in the selection of counsels

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

A vast experience in litigation and court procedure Ability to advise the business on any legal concerns Proficient drafting, research and negotiation skills Analytical and interpretative thinking Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to manage reportees
