Position Overview: 

The China Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations while aligning with the company's global legal strategy. This position is vital to our operations in China and will involve multi-jurisdictional legal expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Advice and Support:

Provide legal guidance on corporate governance, compliance, contracts, employment law, and regulatory matters.Draft, review, and negotiate contracts in Chinese/English to protect the company's interests.

Compliance:

Ensure adherence to Chinese laws and regulations relevant to corporate operations, employment, and data privacy.Monitor changes in legislation and analyze their implications for the business, providing timely updates to management.

Dispute Resolution:

Assist in managing legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations.Collaborate with external legal counsel as necessary.

Risk Management:

Identify legal risks and proactively develop strategies to mitigate potential issues.Provide training and support to staff on legal compliance and ethical practices.

Collaboration:

Work closely with various departments, such as BUs, HR, Finance, and Operations, to ensure alignment of business goals with legal requirements.Partner with regional and global legal teams to synchronize legal strategies.

Legal Documentation:

Maintain and organize legal documents, advising on the preparation of corporate resolutions, filings, and reports.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Develop and maintain relationships with relevant government authorities and legal stakeholders in China.

Qualifications:

Admission to practice law in China (qualified lawyer).A minimum of 7 years of legal experience, preferably in a multinational corporation or law firm.Strong knowledge of Chinese corporate, labor, and commercial law.Proven ability to negotiate contracts in English.Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment.Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.Proficiency in Mandarin and English is required.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in the manufacturing or technology sector is a plus.Familiarity with international legal standards and practices.Demonstrated experience in M&A practice.
