Legal Counsel, Healthcare

​This professional will act as a regional counsel for Europe and will be responsible for managing and coordinating the delivery of legal services for our Healthcare and Life Science divisions in Europe. Responsibilities may later expand to other business areas. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Counsel - Europe.

What You Will Do:

•Act as business counselor and advisor to Ecolab’s leadership teams within Europe on commercial matters. •Legal advice and counseling on commercial transactions including drafting, reviewing, negotiating and approving contractual commitments for major accounts/dealers and related contractual documentation.  •Legal advice to the management and legal oversight of litigation, claims, competition law and other legal issues affecting European operations.  •Assist as needed on internal restructuring and M&A, particularly during the due diligence process and integration.•Build and manage ongoing relationships with key stakeholders to understand business context and priorities.•Managing risk and ensuring the cost-effective use of external legal services.

What You Will Need:

•Six to twelve years of corporate and commercial law experience working in a law firm and/or in-house with a multinational corporation, preferably with five years in the healthcare industry and in the chemical industry, with professional license/authorization to practice law.•Strong experience in commercial law including drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts with end customers and distributors in English language. •Business and financial acumen, with the ability to balance legal and commercial considerations and explain complex legal points to business leaders across and outside Europe.•Ability to identify, analyze, assess and communicate legal risks to enable internal clients make quality, risk-adjusted business decisions.•Strong organizational skills - ability to coordinate multiple responsibilities and geographies concurrently and prioritize to meet required timelines.•Decisive decision-maker who understands global organizational impacts and has cultural awareness.•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English as a requirement (French is a plus).•Collaborative team player with strong networking skills.
