Legal Billing Analyst
Description Our client is looking for a Legal Billing Analyst to join their team on a contract to hire basis. The Legal Billing Analyst with a minimum of five years of experience in legal billing and a proven track record in the legal industry. This opportunity is 100% remote. Key Responsibilities + Manage the full life cycle of legal billing, including the preparation, submission, and follow-up of invoices with an eye for accuracy and timeliness. + Utilize eBilling platforms (e.g., Legal Tracker, Serengeti, or similar) to submit and track invoices while addressing any system-related discrepancies. + Customize invoices to comply with client-specific billing guidelines, ensuring that all documentation adheres to ABA codes and required formats such as LEDES. + Reconcile accounts, research and resolve billing disputes, and ensure payment issues are swiftly addressed in collaboration with attorneys and clients. + Generate detailed billing and financial reports, providing analysis to support decision-making and identify opportunities for process improvements. + Partner with the legal team to ensure client billing expectations are consistently met and maintain a comprehensive understanding of firm policies and procedures. + Consistently review and implement process adjustments to improve billing workflows, efficiency, and accuracy. Requirements Candidate Qualifications + Experience: 5+ years of legal billing experience in a law firm or corporate legal environment. + Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with legal billing software (e.g., Elite, ProLaw, Aderant) and electronic billing systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are a must (e.g., pivot tables and VLOOKUP). + Expertise: In-depth understanding of billing policies, LEDES billing formats, UTBMS codes, and ABA guidelines. + Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to professionally correspond with attorneys, clients, and internal teams. + Education: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a similar field is preferred but not required if equivalent experience exists.
