Legal Bill Analyst

Make your mark in Claims Global Operation – Third Party Management Our team Claims Global Operation – Third Party Management provides first-class advice to colleagues and functions across the organization – ensuring AIG navigates an ever-changing landscape that spans state, federal, and international lines. The team has a multidimensional impact, from managing third-party vendors, to overseeing and controlling relationships with external entities that provide goods, services or support to our organization. How you will create an impact + Review bills submitted by law firms for reasonableness and compliance with Litigation Management Guidelines with a view to ensuring AIG pays only for charges that are reasonable and appropriate. + Adjust, approve and reject invoices in the system as appropriate and make recommendations to the adjusters for approval of invoices to be paid. + Process all approved invoices for payment in the system. + Communicate adjustments and payment appropriately to the law firm or vendor. + Maintain a daily spreadsheet reflecting the amounts submitted by the law firm, adjustments made, payment details and any exceptions noted. + Contribute data used to generate key performance metric reports identifying trends to be communicated to law firms, vendors, and legal audit teams or claim professionals. + Reviewing internal claim systems for claim details, communicating with claim professionals to determine prior authorization or exception approval, and researching terminology on the internet. + Make decisions on whether or not to approve and pay an invoice and/or adjust amount to be paid accordingly. + Perform tasks with sound judgment and discretion and make critical decisions independently and judiciously. + Ensure completion of tasks and assignments in a high-volume work environment. + Ensure that invoices are reviewed and paid in accordance with all applicable guidelines. + Ensure that assigned targets are met in accordance with SLA. + Ensure that the quality of work is in compliance with predefined parameters. + Ensure adherence to established attendance schedules. What you’ll need to succeed + Minimum Education: Law degree (JD or LL.B). + Computer literate and a proficient user of MS Office Suite and other applications. + Basic Knowledge of using Internet, Web Browser, Search Engine etc. + Good interpersonal and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). + Tenacity to follow-through on open items to complete assignments and meet deadlines. + Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced/time-sensitive environment. + Any experience in the BPO, financial-services, and/or insurance industry is a plus. + Must be willing to work on mid-shift / flexible schedules. + With high attention to detail. + Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision. + Self-motivated and ability to take initiative. + Works effectively within a teamwork environment to accomplish goals, takes action that respects the needs of others & those of the organization. + Plans, prioritizes and schedules own work to ensure timely completion.
