Legal Assistant
Description We are looking for a Legal Assistant with strong attention to detail to join our team in Pikesville, Maryland. This role is ideal for someone who is well-versed in legal processes and has experience supporting attorneys in civil litigation and medical malpractice cases. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of case management and administrative tasks. Responsibilities: • Prepare, edit, and finalize legal documents, including complaints, for filing and service. • Manage electronic filing processes for court submissions and ensure compliance with deadlines. • Coordinate and maintain attorneys’ schedules, including hearings, meetings, and filing deadlines. • Handle case management tasks using software tools, such as Filevine, to organize and track case progress. • Arrange for the service of legal documents and ensure proper documentation of processes. • Maintain a paperless office environment by organizing and managing electronic files. • Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and court personnel to facilitate case proceedings. • Utilize tools such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word to support administrative functions. • Assist with tasks related to medical malpractice and personal injury litigation. • Ensure all court filings are accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Requirements • Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role. • Proficiency in e-filing and court filing processes. • Familiarity with civil litigation, medical malpractice, and personal injury cases. • Strong organizational skills, particularly in calendar management and scheduling. • Knowledge of case management software, such as Filevine, is preferred. • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. • Ability to work efficiently in a paperless office environment. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with attorneys, clients, and court staff.
