Legal Assistant
Key Responsibilities: Case Management:  Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.  Monitor deadlines and ensure timely submission of all court filings and other legal documents. Client Interaction:  Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and gathering necessary information.  Is upbeat, empathetic, and positive in their interactions with clients.  Schedule and coordinate client meetings.  Assist attorneys in preparing for client meetings and court appearances if needed. Administrative Support:  Manage attorney calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements.  Work with attorneys and the firm’s finance team to ensure monthly invoices are accurate and sent to clients in a timely fashion.  Maintain confidentiality of all client and case information. Other Duties:  Responsible for performing conflict checks and opening new client matters.  Assist with special projects as needed.  Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the firm's trust and estates practice. Qualifications Education:  High school diploma or equivalent work experience in Trust and Estates required. Experience:  Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in Trust & Estates. Skills:  Experience working with Trusts & Estates attorneys.  Proficient knowledge of general estate planning matters.  Knowledge of e-filing systems required for uploading probate documents to court.  Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.  Proficient in legal research tools and software (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  High level of accuracy and attention to detail.  Strong organizational and time management skills.  Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Work Environment: -- This position operates onsite in a professional office environment. -- The ideal candidate must be comfortable travelling to our satellite office in Hingham, MA (Fridays only) to support the partner during signings and to perform any other duties required. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
