As a Legal and Compliance Attorney supporting Alcon's Legal & Compliance function, you will be trusted to provide legal and strategic guidance across a wide array of legal matters and compliance activities impacting our business in Mexico.

IN THIS ROLE, A TYPICAL DAY WILL INCLUDE:

Providing strategic legal advice and ensuring legal sufficiency of business matters in Mexico, including contracts, litigation, labor, and compliance.Drafting and negotiating a wide range of agreements (e.g., services, consultancy, purchasing, employment, distribution, consignment, and equipment financing).Representing Alcon Legal to external stakeholders including government entities, unions, and industry associations.Supporting spin-offs, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and managing related legal risk and documentation.Monitoring legal developments and educating the business on risks, trends, and regulatory changes.Managing external counsel and ensuring adherence to the Alcon Outside Counsel Policy.Leading internal legal housekeeping and compliance documentation (e.g., minutes, policies, board documentation).Collaborating with the Head of Legal & Compliance Mexico on compliance programs, investigations, training, and policy enforcement.Reviewing and approving public tender documentation and promotional materials.Monitoring the contract management system and contributing to internal/external audit processes.Leading payment processes for Legal and Compliance vendors.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

Minimum Requirements

Law degree and licensed to practice in Mexico.4+ years of experience as an in-house lawyer.Advanced English language skills (written and verbal).Demonstrated experience in compliance-related matters.

Additional Qualifications

Knowledge of regulatory matters (COFEPRIS) and competition law (COFECE).If not from pharma, then from another regulated and/or multinational company.Experience managing various stakeholders.Background in consumer law.Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal abilities.Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure.Familiarity with tools such as Icertis/Upside contract management systems.
