We are on the lookout for a confident and commercially minded Legal Advisor to join our in-house Legal team here at Screwfix. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact across the business, advising on a broad range of contracts and commercial issues that keep us running smoothly and compliantly as we continue to grow.

 

You’ll be working closely with teams at every level, drafting, negotiating, and advising on high-value agreements, all while helping to manage business risk and protect our brand and reputation. Responsibilities Crafting and negotiating complex/standard and strategically important commercial contracts both with third party suppliers (GNFR), vendors (GFR) and intragroup agreements.Provide practical in-house legal advice on a wide range of general commercial legal issues.Management of and communication with business stakeholders at all levelsEffectively deliver appropriate, sound and researched legal advice as is necessary whilst working to tight deadlines Take instructions from business stakeholders and build strong working relationships. Provide support to the Senior Legal Manager as well as to the remainder of the Legal team when requested.Carrying out legal analysis and researching legal mattersDrafting and reviewing legal documents, correspondence and analysis Qualifications Qualified solicitor with 4+ years PQEStrong and demonstrable general commercial law and commercial contract experience, including superlative drafting and negotiating skills.Proven experience in managing business stakeholders (at all levels, including those in SFX and in wider group).Ability to understand the needs of, manage expectations of and work collaboratively with stakeholders.Ability to manage and prioritise workloads, to include turnaround of work on tight deadlines.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.Prior experience of providing legal advice within an in-house environment, including experience of client and matter management.Ability to identify potential risks and advise on them in the context of commercial objectives.
