The Office is currently seeking a Legal Administrative Support Supervisor in the Government Support Section. A successful candidate in this position will be able to: + Understand the Minnesota AFSCME Council 5, AFL-CIO, AGO policies and the AGO Office Manual + Supervise legal administrative staff including hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management + Monitor individual and team workloads, redistribute tasks as needed to maintain efficiency and meet deadlines + Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and teamwork across the support staff team + Develop and maintain professional working relationships with the building staff, maintenance and security teams + Provide regular coaching, feedback, and conflict resolution to support team development and morale + Oversee quality control procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to deadlines + Conduct weekly check-ins with support staff to review progress, address bottlenecks, and adjust priorities in real time based on attorney feedback and workload + Lead triage and reassignment efforts during trial prep, audits, or urgent filings + Implement and maintain standardized procedures to improve efficiency across legal administrative functions + Serve as a liaison between attorneys, support staff and other departments to address administrative needs + Maintain records related to staff performance, schedules, attendance, and administrative performance metrics + Document Standard Operating Procedures + Track and report on workflow trends, performance indicators, and operational challenges to Office Managers and Operations Manager + Ensure compliance with legal and office policies including confidentiality, records retention, and ethical guidelines + Design and deliver onboarding and ongoing training opportunities for legal support staff + Identify skills gaps and organize cross training or refresher sessions as appropriate This position is eligible for a hybrid work environment (combination of in-office work and telework). **Minimum Qualifications** + High school diploma or equivalent required + Minimum of 5 years of administrative experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role involving assigning work, training staff, and managing performance + Ability to collaborate and interact effectively and professionally with senior leaders, colleagues, and direct reports + Proven ability to make sound, informed decisions, handle sensitive information with discretion, and respond appropriately to varying situations with professionalism and integrity **Preferred Qualifications** + Associate or bachelor’s degree + Legal Administrative certificate + Previous experience supervising employees covered by a bargaining unit + Experience supporting attorneys **Physical Requirements** + Ability to move and transport such articles as files, IT equipment, and resource materials weighing up to 20 pounds **Additional Requirements** It is our policy that all candidates submit to a background investigation prior to employment.
