We are seeking an enthusiastic academic to join our department as a lecturer. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop both teaching expertise and an independent research portfolio while contributing to our educational mission.

Brief Description

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging teaching in medical sciences at undergraduate and postgraduate level

- Contribute to curriculum development and implementation

- Participate in student assessment and academic support

- Develop and pursue an independent research program

- Supervise postgraduate students

- Engage in scholarly activities, research projects and research publications, with an undertaking of a higher degree in the field of Anatomical Pathology (including computational studies, laboratory studies, cancer research in pre-clinical and clinical fields)

- Contribute to departmental meetings and various departmental academic and administrative activities and take on academic citizenship activities within the department and the University.

- Seek research funding opportunities and collaborations

Experience and Skills

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work collaboratively in an academic setting

- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice

- Familiarity with contemporary teaching methods

- Potential to secure research funding

- Evidence of research potential through publications and/or conference presentations

Essential Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Medicine (MBBCh) and completion of internship and community service.

- Registration with professional council

- Previous teaching experience - a minimum of a year of teaching experience (tutoring or teaching assistance is acceptable) is required.

Advantages:

- Research experience and student supervision.

- Successful completion of additional degrees and/or a postgraduate qualification in Health Sciences Education would be an advantage.
