Job Title Lecturer/Assistant/Associate Professor of Kinesiology Agency Texas A&M University - Texarkana Department CNHHS - Health Professions Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location Texarkana, Texas Job Type Faculty Job Description Texas A&M University-Texarkana will be pursuing an aggressive program growth agenda over the next five (5) years which includes a BS-Kinesiology and a Master of Science in Adapted Physical Activity program ( currently under the THECB review for final approval ) . The Lecturer or Assistant /Associate Professor of Kinesiology will be responsible for teaching courses in the Kinesiology curriculum , in e xercises p hysiology, b iomechanics , sports psychology , physical education, and other human performance related areas . The appointment will be for a 9 -month non- ten ure track or tenure track faculty member depending on the rank , and the position start s from Fall 2025. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : + Teach courses in Pre-Physical Therapy, E xercise and Sciences , and EC-12 Physical Education for both undergraduate or possible graduate program s . + Lecturer – Teach up to 15 SCH per academic semester . + Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure Track) - Teach 12 SCH per academic semester, including respective laboratories, and with the option for up to two courses in the summer in credentialed area(s) + Student advisement as assigned. + Active participant in program development, renewal, and revision + Perform appropriate levels of service within the university, region, national and international Sports organizations and school physical education . + Work with the Division Chair and Kinesiology c oordinator to develop collaborative relationships with local and regional organizations and communities . + Active ly apply internal/external fundings for projects and research. + Serve on search committees for new program faculty. As time and budgets permit, promote enrollment in programs on campus and in wider communities. Maintain program memberships or affiliations with relevant professional associations. KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS & ABILITIES : Minimum Qualifications for Lecturer Rank + Master's degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, or Exercise Science, Coaching and Administration, and Human Performance. Minimum Qualifications for Assistant Professor + Terminal degree: Ph.D . or EdD in Kinesiology (Ass istant Professor) Physical education or a related field in Exercise Sciences, Coaching and Administration, and Human Performance. + ABD will be considered but the terminal degree must be conferred by time of appointment Minimum Qualifications for Associate Professor Rank + Terminal degree : Ph.D . or EdD in Kinesiology, Physical education , e xercise s ciences, c oaching and a dministration, and h uman p erformance. + At least five ( 5 ) years of higher education teaching experience + Record of scholarly work and publications + Record of service to universities , community, and region + Record of higher education teaching excellence Preferred Qualifications - all ranks + Experience using Canvas or other online software + Experience teaching courses in the Kinesiology program and curriculum development . + Excellent interpersonal skills + Experience teaching at the graduate level + Experience in national accreditation for educational programs Other Requirements + Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours. + Ability to maintain confidentiality.
