Job Summary
The Department of History, Political Science and Philosophy seeks applicants for one full-time year-long faculty position at the rank of Lecturer. Candidates should have at least a master’s degree in History or a related field and should have the ability to teach survey courses in US History up to 1877 and US History from 1877.
Responsibilities will include teaching five 3-credit hour undergraduate courses per semester, most likely a combination of US History to 1877 and US History from 1877. The successful candidate may be asked to teach sections in both face-to-face and online formats. The successful candidate may be asked to teach a section or two at a dual-enrollment campus in the area.
Job Responsibilities
+ Teach 10 undergraduate courses per year (5 per semester), typically in US History to 1877 and US History from 1877;
+ Participate in Departmental and University student recruitment and retention;
+ Participate in some committee work, both inside and outside the Department, as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree from an accredited institution or university in History or a closely related discipline, and demonstrable expertise within the field(s).
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Demonstrated experience reflecting passion for teaching, particularly students at the undergraduate level.
+ Evidence of or potential for strong student engagement activities aimed at recruitment and retention.

Degrees earned from institutions outside of the United States are required to be evaluated and certified for equivalency to a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) degree, and other higher education degrees.
