Job Title Lecturer, History Agency Texas A&M University - Kingsville Department Department Of Hist, Political Sci, & Phi Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location Kingsville, Texas Job Type Faculty Job Description Job Summary The Department of History, Political Science and Philosophy seeks applicants for one full-time year-long faculty position at the rank of Lecturer. Candidates should have at least a master’s degree in History or a related field and should have the ability to teach survey courses in US History up to 1877 and US History from 1877. Responsibilities will include teaching five 3-credit hour undergraduate courses per semester, most likely a combination of US History to 1877 and US History from 1877. The successful candidate may be asked to teach sections in both face-to-face and online formats. The successful candidate may be asked to teach a section or two at a dual-enrollment campus in the area. Job Responsibilities + Teach 10 undergraduate courses per year (5 per semester), typically in US History to 1877 and US History from 1877; + Participate in Departmental and University student recruitment and retention; + Participate in some committee work, both inside and outside the Department, as needed Minimum Qualifications: + Master’s degree from an accredited institution or university in History or a closely related discipline, and demonstrable expertise within the field(s). Preferred Qualifications: + Demonstrated experience reflecting passion for teaching, particularly students at the undergraduate level. + Evidence of or potential for strong student engagement activities aimed at recruitment and retention.
