Leave of Absence Specialist
We have an outstanding Contract position for aLeave of Absence Specialistto join a leading Company located in thePlano, TX surrounding area. Job Responsibilities: + Serve as subject matter expert for leaves of absence, demonstrating detailed understanding of entire leave of absence lifecycle. + Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work, relays communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason. + Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave. + Handles the FMLA leave administration process from the employee's initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, and designating leave as FMLA-qualifying. + Advises managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers' compensation, and short-term medical leave of absence, and FMLA. + Facilitates other leave requests, which may include accommodation requests under the ADA. + Preserves the confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files. + Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws. + Communicates directly with employees and managers regarding leave eligibility, rights, responsibilities, and documentation requirements + Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations as well as internal policies during the leave administration process. + Partners with HR, Payroll, and Legal departments to coordinate leave benefits and maintain accurate leave tracking. + Provides compassionate and professional support to employees navigating sensitive or complex leave scenarios. + Analyze FMLA, STD and WC claims to determine eligibility and certification in compliance with State and Federal regulations. + Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, personal leave, and company-specific time-off policies. Analyzing FMLA claims to determine eligibility and certification in compliance with state and federal regulations. + Administer all aspects of employee leave programs, from the employee's initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. + Act as liaison with applicable third-party administrators. + Work closely with team members in payroll as needed throughout the leave of absence. + Properly handle confidential, sensitive, or otherwise protected information. + Investigates and resolves employee relations issues, including complaints of harassment, discrimination, and other types of prohibited behavior. Basic Hiring Criteria: + 4+ years of experience with leave of absence and the benefits, and experience with MetLife insurance preferred. + Strong Communication with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. + Able to handle confidential information. + Very detail-oriented and maintains sensitive information. + Prefer someone to have experience working with MetLife Ins. + Proficient in MS Office. + Bachelor's degree preferred.
