Leave Of Absence Specialist

The Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of employee leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with company policies, federal

and state regulations, and coordination with third-party administrators. This role serves as the primary point of contact for internal employees on leave and

works closely with HR partners and internal systems to ensure accurate and timely processing of leave requests and returns.

Responsibilities

Review all incoming correspondence related to leave administration.Initiate continuous leave status for employees based on received documentation.Audit letters for accuracy and collaborate to resolve discrepancies.Provide requested documentation to third parties, including eligibility verification and timecard data.Participate in monthly meetings to address trends, concerns, and process improvements.Maintain and update the Continuous Leave Log with current leave statuses.Support compliance tracking for specific groups, including return-to-work monitoring.Proactively contact employees prior to their scheduled return to confirm readiness.Coordinate with HR and management to ensure smooth reintegration into the workplace.Processes leave transactions in HRIS systems, ensuring accurate coding and data integrity.Support Tier 2 ADA accommodation requests, including workplace integration and reassignment processes.

Essential Skills

Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.Experience using HRIS systems, Oracle preferred.Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.Proficiency in eligibility verification and leave administration.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.2+ years of experience in HR, focusing on leave administration or employee relations.Familiarity with FMLA, ADA, and other federal/state leave laws.Experience working with third-party leave administrators.Knowledge of COVID-19-related leave policies and tracking.Bilingual capabilities are a plus.

Work Environment

This position operates in a hybrid work environment, with most responsibilities carried out remotely. However, occasional in-office attendance is required for specific training. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
