Purpose
The Leave Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end administration of Roseburg’s leave of absence and accommodation programs, ensuring compliance, consistency, and a positive team member experience. This role directly supervises the Leave Specialist and serves as the subject matter expert on all leave-related and accommodations processes, including FMLA, ADA, and related programs. The manager ensures policies and practices align with legal requirements and supports continuous improvement of leave and accommodation services across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the Company’s subject matter expert on federal and state leave laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, etc.), internal policies, and applicable pay programsInterpret and administer leave and accommodation programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws and organizational practicesEnsure timely and accurate communication with team members and managers throughout the leave and accommodation processDevelop, maintain, and provide education on Company policies and processes on accurate and effective administration of all aspects of leave programsDirectly supervise leave team members, providing guidance, support, and oversight of day-to-day leave administration and case managementEnsure leave program compliance with HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelinesDevelop and maintain materials, tools, and guidance for HR, managers, and team members involved in leaves and accommodationsTrack and analyze program metrics; prepare reports and present data to internal stakeholders to inform decision-making and identify trendsReview and resolve complex escalated employee issues related to leave management and programsIn partnership with HR, manage accommodation requests in compliance with ADA and related laws, including coordinating the interactive process and return-to-work planningCoordinate with internal HRIS team to ensure the system set up (accrual buckets, waiting periods, request forms, etc) accurately reflects Company policy, legally required entitlements, and current processMonitor legal and regulatory developments and provide recommendations to internal practices and policies accordinglyCollaborate with the Benefits team to coordinate Short-Term and Long-Term Disability (STD/LTD) claims with leave entitlements.Lead the development and continuous improvement of leave and accommodation program documentation, processes, and communications Other duties as assignedModel Company core values
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, or related field (or any equivalent combination of education and experience)Five (5) years of professional experience in HR, leaves or accommodation administrationTwo (2) years of experience in a leadership position
Preferred Qualifications
PHR/SPHR certification preferredExperience in multiple state leave administrationCompletion of specialized certification or training on FMLA/leave administration a plus
