Principal Accountabilities:
1. Support tanneries and Brands, Materials and Product Developers to ensure effective and timely development and subsequent commercialization of new leathers
Work with USA leather developers to create the master standards of new leathers
Create leather Specs for brands
Liaise with tanneries to identify issues early finding sustainable technical solution to resolve quality issues ensuring no impact to development time table.
Conduct regular tannery inspections to ensure ongoing compliance with VF Corporations expectations in respect to quality, lab testing and CSR-related matters.
2. Support FTW operations with leather QA/QC activities.
Visiting tanneries to review leather qualities if needed before shipping.
Assist in dispute resolution involving leather quality
Report leather inspection results
3. Assist in building a strong collaborative relationship between the brand, factories and tannery partners.
4. Monitor and check tannery inventory levels and LOI status.
5. Catch up with tanneries regularly about quality, sustainability, and CSR-related matters.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field.
Equivalent years of experience in a substantially similar industry may be considered in lieu of a degree, as determined by the nature of the specific job and the hiring manager’s criteria.
5 years of related experience preferred.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
