Position Title: Learning Services Assistant
Status: Full-TIme Support
Hours: 37.5hours per week
Faculty/Department: Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology
Campus/Location: North Campus - 110 Carrier Drive
Salary: FT Support Payband: D
Salary Range: $26.77 - $31.01
Starting Salary: $26.77
Progression through the payband is in accordance with the increments in the payband as outline in the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement based on actual service in the payband.
About the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology at Humber:
The Faculty of Applied Sciences Technology (FAST) at Humber College offers a dynamic and innovative learning environment, combining academic theory with hands-on practice in fields such as cybersecurity, engineering, embedded systems, and skilled trades. About the Learning Services Assistant Role:
The successful candidate will provide front line customer service and clerical support in the Faculty of Applied Sciences Technology (FAST), duties include but are not limited to the following:
Handling virtual and in-person inquiries from students, professors/instructors staff, applicants and the general public; mail distribution; supports the day-to-day affairs of the business unit by developing administrative and office efficiency procedures; general office and mail room organization; maintains professional office atmosphere; and provides back up for other staff when needed.
The incumbent also records and posts notification of class cancellations; orders and maintains office supplies; maintains content for Humber TV and bulletin boards; assists with organizing and coordinating meeting logistics which may include booking rooms, room setup, processing catering and/or AV requests, taking minutes/meeting notes, coordinating transportation/travel and accommodation arrangements, as required, and updating appointment calendars.
The position will also provide program support, such as notifying students of scheduling changes, and may assist in the production of instructional materials, course outlines, etc.

Education
The successful candidate will have a 2-year diploma or equivalent in any of the fields of business, communications, entrepreneurship, finance, human resources, information systems, marketing, and any other related fields of study, with at least a minimum of 1 year related experience.
Experience/Skills
Strong oral and written communication skillsExperience working in a busy office environment and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Experience working with student information systems and/or relatively complex computer information systems
Ability to take direction and work independently
Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite
Experience working in a post-secondary institution is considered an asset.
